Okay ... We can tell you now! So, there we were in the Turks & Caicos, Spring 2009, exploring for new caves and checking out some known ones. Teammate Justin Bates and I entered the most smelly, mucky, raunchy, and generally uninviting hole in the ground and descended into zero visibility hoping to find clear water, virgin tunnels, and a cave that goes ... and goes ... and goes ...
Keeping touch contact with Justin in the lead, and carefully running line by feel, we eventually broke out into clear water! We discovered that the cave was syphoning due to tidal change and we also discovered old broken CAVE LINE hanging haphazardly from a ceiling tie-off and extending down the right side of a tunnel that angled sharply to the right. Someone else was crazy enough to penetrate this skanky hole? Ewwww! So, crack ho's really do make money? Guys will do ANYTHING won't we? We managed to get out alive, but my girlfriend insisted we rinse off in the sea to get the smell off us before she'd let us back in the SUV. She's more particular about the holes she explores. As she once said, "I'm very picky."
